I visit Old Drum almost every day. The service is sincerely friendly, the atmosphere is calm (as a coffeehouse should be), and there are many, many options. Old Drum is a good place to get homework done or just hang out.
I had the best breve latte here this afternoon, including a swan in the foam of my half and half. Really great breve and friendly staff!

Good local (KC) coffee and relaxed atmosphere. Banging the espresso grounds out makes it hard to have a conversation sometimes. Easy to use Wi-Fi
An historical location across from the county courthouse. Legendary name. The coffee is fresh, and reasonably priced. It's a bakery also, with what appears to be freshly-baked treats. Good ambience.
