He did offer a stronger antibiotic for my sinusitis, so that was a plus. He's capable, and if he was interested in improving his mannerism and working with patients, he could really improve. I felt like I was just another cash pinata that could be whacked for needless procedures in less than 10 minutes with him.
Dr. Hechler seems competent enough, but uses equipment he knows insurance feels is unnecessary, so they don't cover it or count it against your deductible. The instrument that he uses to look into my sinus could be the same that other doctors use without the cost. Then after finding sinusitis with the nasal cavity tool, he shuffled out and said I needed a CT scan. That had to be called in to my insurance, but was approved, just not covered under my plan, so all deductible. After a $40 copay, I ended up with a $280 bill and my insurance paid over a $100.
His staff is great, best group around for being helpful, and working with other offices.
Then after striking out on what was wrong with me he sent me to an ophthalmologist, because I was referred by an optometrist. I had to spend another $40 to go through the same tests I just went through and two days earlier and they couldn't offer any help. There was no reason to refer me to that doctor again.
Was in hospital and he was called by the emergency room and said he would be my specialist. It was 24 hours later (9:15 pm) before his first visit at which time he said he would be back in the morning. He finally showed at 2:00 pm.
